Capgemini Ranked No.1 in Multi-Process Finance & Accounting Outsourcing

NelsonHall Global BPO Study Confirms Capgemini’s Leadership in Booming EMEA Markets

5 August 2008

Capgemini is the clear leader in the booming market for the outsourcing of  multi-process finance & accounting (F&A) activities across the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region, according to a new report on the global market for business process outsourcing (BPO) from independent analysts NelsonHall.

The June 2008 NelsonHall report, ‘Global BPO Market Forecast: 2008-2012’, estimates that Capgemini’s market share in the EMEA multi-process F&A BPO sector is 19 per cent ahead of its closest competitor , Accenture, and 46 per cent ahead of the no. 3 company in the field, IBM Global Services.

NelsonHall predicts that the market for multi-process F&A BPO, defined as the outsourcing of multiple finance functions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting, will more than double over the five years from 2007 to 2012, both globally and in the EMEA region, which would be equivalent to a growth rate of 15 per cent per annum.

Chris Stancombe, Head of BPO Europe at Capgemini, said: ‘It is good to see independent validation of our leadership in this crucial F&A sector of the BPO market, and we agree with NelsonHall’s predictions that the market will continue to grow strongly as companies seek competitive cost-efficiency in a tougher economic climate. However our success in achieving the no.1 position reflects our policy of delivering far more than low cost transaction processing. It reflects our view that one size does not fit every company, and that at Capgemini we also offer our BPO clients value-added business insight, innovation, operational excellence and a truly collaborative approach that reduces their risks and meets their business objectives.’

Capgemini operates a number of BPO service centres around the world, including centres in Australia, China, India, Morocco, Poland, and North and Latin America. The centres have a proven track record of enabling accelerated large scale transformations in finance and accounting, procurement services, customer care and intelligence, assurance services and knowledge process outsourcing. Case studies on the company’s website show cost savings of up to 55% for its F&A BPO customers.

The NelsonHall study also names Capgemini as a leading vendor in several other sectors and areas of BPO markets worldwide, including EMEA back-office BPO, North America customer management services, global purchase-to-pay, global multi-process human resources (HR) BPO and global multi-process F&A BPO.

The study, which covers all regions of the world and all parts of the BPO market, was based on primary and secondary research sources including extensive interviews with senior level vendor executives, analysis of contract activity and examination of published documentation including annual reports.
